The front page consists more or less of a series of thumbnail images of videos you may want to check out. Because this chapter was written around the time of Halloween, some seasonal things are being offered. Some videos are featured in a spotlight, and other videos are recommended for you based on what you ve watched on YouTube before. (The site has the capacity to remember and think about videos you ve watched, but it s anonymous, so don t worry about anyone finding out that you looked for a video about the Muppets.) One of the powerful things about YouTube is the search box. A lot of times, people share links with each other, and you may have already received a link from someone by instant message or e-mail. However, you can also go to the site and search for a video (see Figure 11-3).

The persistence unit in the wine store application has defined a logical data source name, jdbc/wineappDS, in the persistence.xml deployment descriptor. We will create a JDBC connection pool that we can associate with a physical data source with the name winepool, and then we will create the data source with the name jdbc/wineappDS.

YouTube EDU lets you access a lot of free content developed at some leading universities, such as lectures by famous professors (or professors who aren t famous but who are teaching on interesting topics). Plus, you get to learn for free. There are also other videos about the colleges and what people are doing there. It s basically like a video university (see Figure 11-5). A lot more people have seen Bill Gates keynote than the video of the laptop I mentioned earlier! YouTube EDU, like other sections of YouTube, has its own categories, as shown in Figure 11-7.
